Lenovo marks retro-design laptop for ThinkPad's 25th birthday

Since 1992, the year IBM's ThinkPad was introduced, the company has sold more than 100 million units.

Lenovo celebrated IBM’s last week, and as a tribute to ThinkPad’s 25th birthday, they announced a new, retro-designed anniversary edition, with a price tag of a whopping $1,899.

Think of ThinkPad and you would probably rush back into your old memories where owning a laptop would mean fat salary packages, filthy rich people and probably your company CEO. Since 1992, the year IBM’s ThinkPad was introduced, the company has sold more than 100 million units.

The new retro-styled anniversary edition ThinkPad 25 sports a 14-inch IPS multitouch display with a resolution of 1920x1080 pixels. As for the design, the 25 comes with a rubberized back and the iconic red TrackPad joystick on the keyboard. Powering the humble ThinkPad 25 under the hood is an Intel Kaby Lake Core i7 7500U processor supported by 16 Gigs of RAM, a 512MB GeForce 940MX graphics engine and a 512GB SSD storage to make it a powerful beast. Connectivity ports include Thunderbolt, Etherne, Bluetooth v4.1 and USB 3.1 ports. It runs Windows 10 Pro and is powered by a 13.9-hour battery life. Lastly, the ThinkPad 25 weighs in at just 1.6Kg.
