Nvidea launches next-gen graphics cards for high-performance gaming
Mumbai: Nvidea has launched its new range of enhanced graphics cards including the GTX 1080 and 1070 for supporting superior quality gaming and VR.
Both the graphics cards are based on the company’s latest Pascal architecture, claiming superior performance and power bump in contrast to the older GTX 900 series and even the beastly Titan X GPU.
According to media reports, the new GTX 1080 cards will be available world-wide starting May 27 at a starting price of $599, which is approximately a bit more than Rs 39,000. The GTX 1070 series cards, on the other hand, will be available at $379, which is approximately Rs 25,000.
Other than that, users can also expect founder versions of both cards for maximum over-clocking, but are priced a higher at $699 and $449 respectively.
During the launch of the performance cards, the founder and CEO Jen-Hsun Huang said that higher GTX 1080 series cards will be three times more energy-efficient as and will be twice as powerful in contrast to the previous flagship GTX Titan X. In fact, the GTX 1070 is also touted to be more powerful than the Titan X.
While we are not delving into the intricate details that makes the cards so powerful, users should know that the card accompanies 8GB VRAM, making it a really powerful option, and both accompany GPU boost.
On-stage demonstrations of the higher GTX 1080 hinted that the card is seamlessly capable of running at 2.1GHz, with a maximum temperature parameter of 67-degree Celsius.
Adding more colour to the event, the CEO also introduced a new power supply unit for the new GPUs, which utilises one of the most advanced ones available today.
Moreover, Nvidea also announced the world’s first 3D in-game camera system, which allows users to capture independent scenes in open world games. Ansel allows users to capture every single frame, which is a complex process.
All the captured images can then be exported at a high resolution, making it much better than regular screenshots.
While these were the prominent releases, Nvidea also announced a major update to it’s VR content authoring kit, dubbed VRWorks, and simultaneous multi-projection for different monitors.
