Plextor to launch their first NAND SSD M9Pe series at CES 2018

These SSDs are based on Toshiba's 64-layer BiCS3 3D TLC NAND.

Plextor’s new SSDs are based on 3D NAND flash memory. The company offers three storage capacities – 256GB, 512GB and 1TB variants with HHHL AIC and M.2 form factor.

Targeted for gamers, Plextor says these drives are "specifically designed to harmonise with professional gaming platforms". According to them, the M9Pe drives offer better performance by reducing lag times and boost the read and write speeds up to 3000MB/s and 2100MB/s respectively. Coming to the IOPS, the performance values are 400K for read and 300K for write in the 1TB model. The company claims that these values were achieved by implementing its PlexNitro 3D NAND into their drives.

Compared to last year M8Pe models, apart from adding NAND tech to their SSDs, they removed the 128GB variant this year. These M9Pe drives can withstand temperatures up to 0 – 70°C and are based on Toshiba's 64-layer BiCS3 3D TLC NAND. The models M9PeY, M9PeG, M9PeGN are specifically designed for desktops, laptops and super-slim laptops respectively. M9Pe supports Microsoft Windows 8.1, 10/ Linux OS and comes with a 5-year warranty. The new series will be unveiled at the CES 2018, which is scheduled for next week.
