Intel teams up with designer to create high-tech outfit

Intel appears to be experimenting with ways to encourage the present-day technology and fashion convergence. The company in collaboration with fashion designer Hussein Chalayan recently unveiled their latest innovations at the Spring/Summer 2017 runway show at Parish Fashion Week.

In the effort to create a high-tech outfit, Intel and Hussein Chalayan introduced two new gadgets – the glasses that can sense stress and a belt that projects live images of the data onto a wall.

The glasses are powered by Intel’s Curie – a low-power module that were previously spotted in several wearable such Chromat’s dress. They essentially determine the wearer’s stress levels through the use of in-built EEG electrodes.

What’s more? There's also an optical heart rate sensor and a microphone that picks up breathing rate in the smart glasses. The data is then sent back to a connected device such as a smart phone through the use of built-in Bluetooth LE.

On the other hand, the Welt makes use of Intel Compute Stick to process information and present it visually.

“The theme of the “Room Tone” show and collection centers on “the here and now of London life,” consisting of a series of five studies that are simultaneous reactions and proposals on how certain attitudes or realities in London life can be experienced or optimized,” the Intel website read.
