Apple has filed a new patent application with the US Patent and Trademark Office that will enable users to prioritise the wireless charging transfer so their phone gets charged first followed by other devices.
Apple is working with wireless power developer Energous for the Radio Frequency (RF) based long-range wireless charging. Energous also has received the consumer safety certification for its wireless charging technology by the US Federal Communications Commission (FCC).
According to a report by Patently Apple, “The US Patent and Trademark Office published a pair of patent applications from Apple that relates to wireless power transfers and a unique scheduling system.”
The report also adds, “Apple's patent notes that the system is 'configured to wirelessly transmit power over the wireless power transfer link',”
Earlier there were reports that Apple is working on a foldable iPhone that can be opened and closed like a book. According to 9to5Mac, the US Patent and Trademark Office has revealed that the Apple has filed a patent application for a foldable display.
“An electronic device may have a flexible portion that allows the device to be folded. The device may have a flexible display. The flexible display may have a bending region that allows the display to bend along a bend axis when the device is folded,” said a patent application published by The US Patent and Trademark Office.
It is also believed that the Apple is working with LG to develop the screen technology. Earlier reports suggested that Apple had plans to invest in an LG plant for production of a foldable display.
The 9to5Mac also stated that display may include an array of display pixels formed from liquid crystal display (LCD) components. It is also believed that the panel production of foldable iPhone could start from 2020.
Besides, the previous report suggests that Samsung too is working on a similar handset which may unveil in January....
