Qualcomm unveils the QCC3026 SoC for cost-effective wireless earbuds
At CES this year, Qualcomm has unveiled the QCC5100 SoC that is acclaimed to improve processing power, reception and better battery life of wireless earbuds. And, now Qualcomm has introduced a cost-effective version – the QCC3026 SoC, which is basically intended for device manufacturers to make their own set of wireless earbuds targeting low and mid-tier handsets. This is further intended for the manufacturers to make these wireless earbuds bundled with their popular phones in the box since every popular device maker is ditching the 3.5mm headphone jack.
“At its lower price point, the QCC3026 is able to deliver a compelling performance and low power consumption with the use of enhanced Qualcomm TrueWireless Stereo technology,” the company stated in its press release.
The new SoC supports Bluetooth v5.0 and supported audio technologies include Qualcomm Broadcast, TrueWireless Stereo and Qualcomm aptX and cVc audio technologies. The SoC features 32-bit architecture with clock speeds up to 32MHz and also features programmable apps.
OPPO has recently announced their first wireless stereo earbuds called – ‘O-Free’ based on the new QCC3026 SoC with Qualcomm TrueWireless Stereo, and will also be included with Find X phones.
Similarly, ‘the other phone manufacturers are intended to make their own set of earbuds and will most likely go to sale in the next half of 2018 at a commercial level bundled with their popular handsets’ the company has stated its press release.
