Elon Musk Uses Indian Meme To Mock Apple's ChatGPT Integration

Tesla CEO Elon Musk on Tuesday shared an Indian meme on X to take a dig at Apple. The billionaire highlighted Apple's integration with OpenAI, which will lead to privacy issues.

The image which reads, "How intelligence works", shows a man and a woman sharing coconut water. The text implies Apple's deal with OpenAI could lead to privacy violations.

Earlier, Elon Musk threatened to ban iPhones at his companies if Apple integrates with OpenAI at OS level and he called the move "an unacceptable security violation".

"If Apple integrates OpenAI at the OS level, then Apple devices will be banned at my companies. That is an unacceptable security violation," he posted on X.

The tech billionaire also said that the visitors will have to check their Apple devices at the door, where they will be stored in a Faraday cage.

In another post he said, "It’s patently absurd that Apple isn’t smart enough to make their own AI, yet is somehow capable of ensuring that OpenAI will protect your security & privacy! Apple has no clue what’s actually going on once they hand your data over to OpenAI. They’re selling you down the river."

At the Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) 2024, Craig Federighi, Apple's Senior Vice President of Software Engineering, announced that ChatGPT will be available on Apple devices.

"Apple is integrating ChatGPT into experiences within iOS, iPadOS, and macOS, allowing users to access ChatGPT’s capabilities—including image and document understanding—without needing to jump between tools," read a blog post of OpenAI.
