ChatGPT Can Now Virtually Try Clothes on You Before You Buy
OpenAI said the new shopping features build on the recently launched ChatGPT Images 2.5 model

OpenAI’s ChatGPT has introduced two new shopping features that allow users to virtually try on clothes and accessories and save products so they can come back to them later.
OpenAI said the new shopping features build on the recently launched ChatGPT Images 2.5 model, which it claims offers more natural lighting, richer textures, more reliable instruction-based editing, and faster image generation.
The new “Try On” feature asks users to upload a selfie or a full-body picture to visualise how a piece of clothing or an accessory would look on them. ChatGPT users can also upload a screenshot of a piece of clothing and ask the chatbot to virtually try it on. Users can access the feature by clicking the “Try On” button in ChatGPT’s shopping results.
The other feature introduced by the company is “Favourites,” which allows users to save products they find to their Library in the app and return to them later.
ChatGPT users can also ask the chatbot to suggest a style they would like to try and find products based on that style. They can also upload a picture of a celebrity and ask ChatGPT to find the clothes they are wearing and whether it is available for purchase.
The new features could expand OpenAI’s presence in an area where platforms such as Pinterest and Google already have established shopping and visual-discovery tools. Google launched its own virtual try-on feature in 2025.
