ChatGPT Can Now Read, Send and Analyse Messages on Mac
OpenAI said the Apple Messages plugin can be used to search messages, catch up on conversations, and draft and send replies

OpenAI has launched an Apple Messages plugin for ChatGPT for macOS that lets users connect their Messages app with the chatbot.
OpenAI said the Apple Messages plugin can be used to search messages, catch up on conversations, and draft and send replies. The plugin will also be available in ChatGPT Work and Codex on desktop.
OpenAI Member of Product Staff Ari Weinstein said the integration will allow ChatGPT to send, read and analyse messages for users, while also allowing them to edit messages before sending them.
The plugin can reply to a person saying you are free for dinner by checking your calendar, find birthdays mentioned in messages and add them to your calendar, and even delete messages for you.
OpenAI says ChatGPT will ask for users’ approval before sending a message.
Users can choose “Allow Once” to approve only that particular message. If a user chooses “Always Allow,” ChatGPT can send future messages to that Messages chat without another send approval.
OpenAI recommends keeping per-send approval enabled for chats that may contain untrusted or misleading instructions. It warns that persistent approval removes the final opportunity to review a message before ChatGPT sends it on the user’s behalf.
