Apple's First Foldable iPhone Reportedly Called 'iPhone Ultra' Internally

Gurman said that “iPhone Ultra” is the name widely used for the foldable iPhone "internally" at Apple

Apple is rumoured to call its first foldable iPhone as “iPhone Ultra”, according to Bloomberg's Mark Gurman.
Gurman said that “iPhone Ultra” is the name widely used for the foldable iPhone "internally" at Apple.
The tech giant is expected to unveil its first foldable iPhone in September. Earlier, there were rumours that the smartphone would be called “iPhone Fold”, but later reports from leakers suggested that the device could be named “iPhone Ultra” instead.
Gurman commented on a post on X, saying, “Everyone calls it the Ultra internally.”
However, the official name of Apple's first foldable iPhone will only be confirmed at the company's September launch event.
So far, reports suggest that the “iPhone Ultra” will measure 5.5 inches when folded and 7.8 inches when unfolded. It is expected to feature a titanium chassis and a dual rear-camera setup with wide and ultra-wide cameras.
The foldable iPhone is also rumoured to feature Touch ID integrated into the power button, similar to some iPad models, instead of Face ID. The device is expected to cost more than $2,000.
Apple is expected to launch the “iPhone Ultra” alongside the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max. The standard iPhone 18 is reportedly being pushed to March 2027, when it could launch alongside the iPhone 18e and the second-generation iPhone Air.
