Apple Reportedly Planning To Launch All-Glass, Curved iPhone in 2027

Apple may also launch foldable iPhone, camera-equipped AirPods, smart watches and smart glasses in 2027

Apple is planning to launch a “mostly glass, curved iPhone” with no display cutouts for its 20th anniversary, according to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman.
This follows a report by The Information, which stated that one iPhone model in 2027 will feature a front-facing camera located underneath the display, enabling a true edge-to-edge screen.
Last year, The Elec also reported that Apple is working on a bezel-less iPhone, although not with a curved display.
In his Power On newsletter, Gurman notes that Apple is planning big for its 20th anniversary in 2027. He says that the company will launch its first foldable iPhone that year, along with its debut smart glasses, intended to rival Meta’s Ray-Ban smart glasses. Gurman also suggests that camera-equipped AirPods and an updated Apple Watch could arrive in 2027.
Additionally, Gurman states that Apple may introduce a Siri version powered by a large language model (LLM) in 2027.
Before the launch of the all-glass iPhone, Apple is rumoured to unveil the iPhone 18 Pro models with under-display Face ID, potentially eliminating the need for the current pill-shaped cutout at the top of the screen.
According to The Information, the iPhone 18 Pro and 18 Pro Max will include a small hole in the top corner of the screen solely for the front-facing camera, while Face ID components will be hidden under the display.
The removal of the pill-shaped cutout could indicate a shift away from Apple’s Dynamic Island, which debuted with the iPhone 14 Pro series. However, it remains unclear whether the Dynamic Island will be entirely phased out.
Noted tech analyst Ross Young has also reported that under-display Face ID will debut in the iPhone 18 Pro lineup, lending further credibility to these claims.
If accurate, these developments suggest Apple is on track to achieve its long-term goal of a truly edge-to-edge screen design.
