Amazon Acquires AI Wearable Startup Bee.
Amazon is set to acquire San Francisco-based startup Bee, which makes an artificial intelligence-enabled bracelet designed to listen to and transcribe conversations.
Amazon confirmed the deal following a LinkedIn post by Bee CEO and co-founder Maria de Lourdes Zollo.
Bee’s wristband can analyze and summarize, create to-do lists, and perform other tasks from the recordings.
“Bee is joining Amazon and we couldn’t be more excited! When we started Bee, we imagined a world where AI is truly personal, where your life is understood and enhanced by technology that learns with you.
What began as a dream with an incredible team and community now finds a new home at Amazon,” Zollo said in a post on X (formerly Twitter).
“Ethan and I couldn’t think of better partners to help us bring truly personal, agentic AI to even more customers,” she added.
In May, ChatGPT maker OpenAI acquired former Apple designer Jony Ive’s AI device startup, io, for $6.5 billion.
