Beijing: Soon after unveiling the K4 Note in India, Chinese multinational company Lenovo has launched its successor, the K5 Note smartphone in China.

The company has not yet announced any details regarding the launch of the handset in other parts of the world.

The K5 has received only a few upgrades over its previous model, which also includes an all-metal body. In terms of display, the handset is equipped with a 5.5-inch FHD LTPS screen, similar to the one on the K4.

Under the hood, the upgraded handsets is powered by a Mediatek Helio P10 SoC with 64-bit processor along with 2GB RAM. Additionally the device comes with 16GB internal storage space that can be expanded up to 128GB via external microSD card. The K5 utilises Android 5.1 (Lollipop) OS with Lenovo’s proprietary Vibe UI on top.

On the camera front, the device comes with a 13MP primary camera with PDAF autofocus, an f/2.2 aperture, and dual-tone LED flash. The secondary 8MP camera is also sufficient for clicking good selfies and video calling.

The hardware configurations on this device include Dolby Atmos powered speakers, 4G LTE support along with the usual connectivity features. Similar to the K4 Note, this dual-SIM handset also employs a fingerprint scanner, which is place below the camera set-up on the rear panel.

All the features on the K5 Note seem strikingly similar to the older model and we feel that the device has been exclusively released for sale in the China, as the K4 Note was not released there.

The smartphone has been priced at CNY 1,099 and if the device is released in India, it seems likely to be priced at Rs 12,000.
