Venkatesh, Rana May Team Up on Big Screen

With sequels trending in Tollywood, actor Venkatesh is said to have given his nod to Part 2 of his 2025 blockbuster Sankranthiki Vasthunam. Adhiripodhi Sankranthi is the title under consideration for the film expected to hit screens during Sankranti 2027. While the sequel will carry forward the festive spirit, sources clarify that it will have a completely new script and fresh character arcs. Anil Ravipudi, whose films are among the biggest recent hits, will be directing the second part too. Interestingly, the sequel will reportedly bring together Venkatesh and his nephew Rana Daggubati on the big screen. “Both actors will have strong and engaging roles, and their pairing will be a major highlight,” a source revealed.

Venkatesh and Rana had shared screen space in the controversial yet successful web series Rana Naidu, where they portrayed an estranged father and son, showcasing darker shades. “This time, however, both will be seen in positive, good-hearted roles, matching each other stride for stride in performance,” the source added.

Producer Dil Raju is expected to bankroll the project, having tasted massive success with the first installment.
