The Women’s Club Revolution Friends Without Filters
In a world of digital connections, women are seeking genuine friendships. Women-only clubs are bringing strangers together through shared experiences, candid conversations and a sense of belonging

She walks into a room of strangers, with no introductions to make or pressure to impress. A few hours later, she leaves with new friends, shared stories and a sense of belonging.
Across Hyderabad, women-only social clubs are redefining socialising through brunches, creative workshops and candid conversations. Beyond networking, they offer women something increasingly rare: genuine connections and a space to be themselves.
LOCKER ROOM: WHERE WOMEN FIND THEIR TRIBE
For Sonali Pamnani Jhabakh, founder of Locker Room No.07, the idea was to create a space where women could build meaningful friendships and find a support system. The Hyderabad-based club has 65 members, mostly in their early 30s, from diverse professional backgrounds, who connect through curated workshops, events and shared experiences.
“Women needed an ecosystem where they could thrive, build, inspire and empower each other, but also form friendships that were truly meaningful,” says Pamnani.
Moving beyond conventional networking, the club encourages candid conversations and connections beyond job titles and social media profiles.
“We wanted to put women together through experiences that would take them out of their comfort zones and get them talking to each other in a more vulnerable and personal way.”
The friendships often extend beyond gatherings, with members stepping in when someone needs help. “There have been situations where women have got into their cars and gone to someone’s house or wherever they were needed. That is the kind of community we are building,” she says.
For Pamnani, the goal is simple, to create a space where every woman feels she belongs.
WOMEN COMMUNITIE: THE ANTIDOTE TO LONELINESS
For Ramya Vaidya, co-founder of Women Communitie, the journey was deeply personal. Struggling to make new friends in Hyderabad, she decided to create the very space she was looking for. “When you don’t have spaces, you create one. And that’s what transpired here,” she says.
The community brings women together through informal gatherings, shared interests and conversations that flow without the pressure of networking or professional introductions. One mental health check-in proved particularly powerful. A woman spoke about her loneliness, only to discover that others in the room had experienced similar feelings. What followed was an open conversation in which women listened, related and found comfort in one another.
“By the end, almost everyone said the same thing - they felt heard, without pressure or judgement. That stayed with me,” Vaidya recalls.
WOMEN ONLY ODDTABLES: A SEAT AT THE TABLE
What if making friends were as simple as booking a Sunday brunch? That is the premise behind Women Only Oddtables, founded by Vaibhav Jain, whose group dining membership brings strangers together over hosted restaurant meals. An overwhelming response from women prompted the launch of dedicated women-only Sunday brunches, where a CEO could share a table with a homemaker and conversations could move effortlessly from everyday life to deeply personal experiences. One woman in her late 30s offered Jain a glimpse into the community’s impact. “I have 400 people in my phone, but this is the first time in months I've said what I actually feel out loud.”
For Jain, that is the point. No networking pitches, matchmaking or obligatory conversations about marriage - just good food, new faces and the freedom to be oneself.
THE NEW CURRENCY: BELONGING
For women navigating demanding careers, changing relationships, new cities and evolving identities, these clubs offer something that digital connections often struggle to provide: real human presence. The ambition is not necessarily to leave with a dozen new friends or a business opportunity. Sometimes, it is simply to have a conversation without checking the phone, laugh without inhibition or find someone who understands. In a world where everyone is connected but many still feel alone, these women-only clubs are making a compelling case for the power of showing up.
Because the most meaningful social network may not be the one with the most followers. It may be the one that answers when you call, saves you a seat at the table and makes you feel that you belong.
BEYOND THE SOCIAL CIRCLE
CITY GIRLS WALK
A women-only community bringing Hyderabad’s women together for group walks, fitness and friendship. The initiative encourages active living while creating opportunities to connect, share experiences and build lasting bonds.
PINK CLUB HYDERABAD
A women-focused social community that brings women together through shared experiences and activities, creating opportunities for friendship, meaningful connections and sisterhood.
For someone, it might be a friendship that lasts for years. For someone else, it might simply be two hours where she doesn’t have to be a mother, a partner, a founder, a lawyer, a daughter, or anything else. She can just be herself.”
— SONALI PAMNANI, FOUNDER, LOCKER ROOM
I think women are parched for company of other women. We are all unfortunately living in silos, thinking we are the only ones going through what we are going through.”
— RAMYA VAIDYA, CO-FOUNDER, WOMEN COMMUNITIE
You can arrive unfinished and still feel you belong."
