Swedish DJ alleges that ‘Naache Naache’ echoes his work

The Raja Saab song has already generated discussion, with Thaman and the makers indicating that it’s a remix

A controversy has erupted around the song ‘Naache Naache’ from Prabhas’ upcoming film The Raja Saab, with a Sweden-based DJ accusing the makers of copying his work.

Swedish DJ and music producer Vidojin alleged that the tune of ‘Naache Naache’ closely resembles his independent track ‘Naache Naache Beat,’ which he had released in 2024. Taking to social media, Vidojin claimed that his song was composed and shared publicly much before the movie version was announced, raising questions about originality.

As a symbolic protest, the DJ shared a video featuring slippers and urged music lovers to compare both tracks and decide for themselves.

Earlier, during promotions, the makers had clarified that Naache Naache was not an original composition but inspired by the 1982 disco number Koi Yahan Aaha Nache Nache Koii Wahan, from Disco Dancer.

Music composer S. S. Thaman said he generally avoids remixes and wanted a fresh, high-energy track for the sequence featuring Prabhas dancing with Nidhhi Agerwal, Malavika Mohanan and Riddhi Kumar. “But this particular song was already etched into the script. As director Maruthi and the producers felt a retro remix suited the situation where the hero meets three heroines at the same time, I agreed and did it without further discussion.”

As the debate continues online, the makers have yet to issue a clarification.
