As Gen Z rediscovers Y2K aesthetics and millennials revisit styles they grew up seeing, accessories that once felt old-fashioned now feel exciting again.

Fashion stylist Sunita Tiwari says social media has changed the way people view statement jewellery. “Earlier, people saved bold accessories for weddings or special occasions. Now, even a simple white shirt becomes content when you add colourful resin bangles. They’re expressive, they’re photogenic and they instantly make an outfit feel more intentional,” she explains.

The beauty of resin bangles lies in their versatility. Translucent candy-coloured styles work beautifully with summer dresses, marbled finishes complement neutral outfits, while jewel-toned stacks effortlessly enhance festive wear. They’re equally at home with denim as they are with silk.

Jewellery designer Nandini Shah says customers today appreciate accessories with personality. “People don’t want jewellery that looks identical to everyone else’s. They’re looking for pieces that tell a story, and handcrafted resin allows endless possibilities. Every swirl of colour and every finish feels slightly different, which makes each bangle special,” she says.

This growing appreciation for handcrafted accessories has also encouraged consumers to support smaller businesses, many of which use resin to create limited-edition collections inspired by Indian art, nature and contemporary design.

More Than Just Nostalgia

Part of resin bangles’ appeal is undoubtedly rooted in nostalgia. Many people remember seeing their mothers and grandmothers wear colourful stacks during festivals, family gatherings or everyday life. Revisiting those styles brings with it a sense of familiarity and comfort.

But today’s resin revival isn’t simply about recreating the past. Designers are introducing cleaner shapes, modern colour palettes and minimalist styling techniques that make the accessory feel relevant for contemporary wardrobes.
