Shabana Azmi Down With Swine Flu
The 75-year-old also suffered an asthma attack after tear gas exposure during the ‘Sansad Chalo’ march

Veteran actor Shabana Azmi was forced to miss the student protest in Mumbai on July 24 after being diagnosed with swine flu. She is currently running a high fever of 102°F. The 75-year-old said she will remain in isolation for five days.
Shabana was scheduled to join the student demonstration at Shivaji Park in Mumbai on Friday, July 24, 2026. Before falling ill, she had spent three days actively participating in the Cockroach Janata Party (CJP)-led student protests at Jantar Mantar in Delhi over the NEET exam irregularities.
Speaking exclusively to DC, Shabana said, “This is my second bout of swine flu. I was willing to join the protest at Shivaji Park despite the fever, but I’ve been advised strict bed rest.”
Earlier in the week, on July 20, she suffered an asthma attack after being exposed to tear gas during the “Sansad Chalo” march, but briefly returned to the protest after using her inhaler.
