Secret Behind Those Perfect Hairlines
Is your forehead getting broader? Is that a bald patch on your crown? These questions are enough to make male celebs hyperventilate. But for every problem, there’s a solution. In this case, there are several solutions…

On camera, your hairline is your brand. For models, YouTubers and actors, hair is career currency. Gullak actor Siddhaarth Mishra says, “If you’re the lead, the pressure around your hair is real. Your hairstyle defines the character and frames your face. And because of that, for male celebs, hair restoration processes are now as routine as visits to the gym.”
How and why
Stress, crash diets, steroids and sleepless nights are bringing hair loss earlier. Men in their 20s and 30s are already facing it. Dr. Rinkle Jariwala, renowned trichologist, explains the process of hair loss – “Genetic hair loss moves slowly and follows a pattern. Your hairline recedes; your crown thins over years. Hormones make each new hair finer. It hits temples, top and crown, not the whole scalp. Lifestyle-related loss appears suddenly and affects the entire head. The upside is it can grow back once you fix the trigger.”
Lifestyle triggers matter. “An actor’s life — bad sleep, brutal workouts, yo-yo dieting, constant stress — is rough on hair,” Dr. Shifa Yadav, Dermatologist at Artemis Hospitals, notes. Stress, crash diets, steroids, poor sleep all fuel hair loss. Tackle the triggers and shedding usually eases.
Siddhaarth Mishra stresses that hair loss is not just scalp issues. “Autoimmune alopecia can leave bald patches in your beard, which is brutal if you keep stubble. I’ve dealt with it — treatment meant steroid injections in my cheek or chin. Stress-triggered flare-ups don’t pick convenient spots. It’s not one-and-done. It needs constant care.”
Take your pick
The good news is that there are many options to get that ‘full head of hair’ look. Thick hair on camera often means wigs, hair systems or transplants. ‘Helmet’ wigs with visible edges are out. New hair systems are ultra-thin, no bulk, no line. Hair toppers are the new flex. Undetectable HD lace patches that feel like skin at the hairline. Dubai clinics lead the way!
Dr. Jariwala adds, “Think of them as spot-treatment for hair. They clip onto the crown to hide thinning or add volume. They’re lightweight, breathable and keep your natural hairline visible. Newer hybrid designs and ultra-thin HD lace virtually disappear into the scalp.” Akshaye Khanna spoke openly about his hair patch before Dhurandhar went viral.
Explaining transplants, Dr Jariwala says, “A hair transplant relocates DHT-resistant follicles, so grafted hairs are permanent. But surrounding native hair keeps following its genetic script. That’s why actors pair transplants with PRP, finasteride, minoxidil and touch-ups. HD cameras expose thinning that looks fine to the eye. They need higher-than-natural density. Touch-ups keep the hairline consistent.” One transplant isn’t final — PRP, meds and touch-ups for years can cost lakhs.
Life after hair transplant
But Dr. Chandani Jain Gupta, Elantis Healthcare advices a ‘halt and go’ approach to surgery. “Assess your loss pattern and confirm enough donor hair. Figure out if it’s temporary shedding from lifestyle or hereditary thinning.”
Nothing to be ashamed of
Excessive shedding of hair used to be a poorly kept secret. Transplants were mocked as “doll hair.” In the 2000s, men delayed treatment out of shame. Now stars discuss FUE (Follicular Unit Extraction) scars and hair systems on Instagram. Dermatologists say patients call it “maintenance,” not surgery.
Dr. Yadav says celeb honesty turned baldness from private shame into a treatable concern. “The stigma’s fading. Androgenetic Alopecia (male pattern baldness) is genetics and DHT (Dihydrotestosterone). The openness of celebs helps other men separate quick fixes like systems from surgery.” But she warns: “You can’t outrun your genes. Permanent density isn’t guaranteed.”
Price to pay
Hair restoration comes at a cost, of course. It varies by grafts, technique, surgeon and clinic. In India, most procedures run from thousands of rupees to a few lakhs. Dr. Yadav adds, “Crore-level bills are rare. They usually involve multiple surgeries, luxury add-ons, or years of treatment. Factor in meds, consultations and maintenance. Ask for the full cost breakdown. Ignore celebrity price tags.”
Hair today…
In the present celebrity world, 59-year-old Salman Khan’s denser hairline has sparked PRP and system rumours. The Internet keeps guessing if Kapil Sharma had FUE. But Dr. Yadav says, don’t diagnose from photos. Meanwhile, Vishal Dadlani and Raghu Ram own the bald look!
