RGV in Big Trouble

Rs 29.67 cr recovery notice issued; industry warned against working with him

Production banner Eclatant Films Private Limited has issued a public legal notice demanding immediate recovery of Rs 29,67,64,000 from Satya maker Ram Gopal Varma. The huge amount includes principal & accumulated interest of Rs 11,38,92,000.

The dispute goes back to an agreement signed on April 10, 2010 between Varma and Eclatant Films. This agreement was even confirmed by Bombay High Court on April 17, 2013.

Eclatant served notice on Oct 15, 2026 giving RGV just 15 days to pay full amount by Oct 30, 2026!

Not just RGV — Eclatant has published a widespread industry notice in trade magazines like Complete Cinema, warning all producers, distributors, broadcasters and OTT platforms that do not do any business, streaming rights deal or buy any project from Ram Gopal Varma.

As per the original deal, RGV is legally required to take written No-Objection Certificate (NOC) from Eclatant Films before doing any film production, direction, writing or co-production.

What if RGV doesn’t pay? If he fails to pay, Eclatant says it will enforce its contractual lien meaning it will take full legal control over his shares, rights, financial interests and exploitation revenues of any film falling under that agreement.

RGV has not responded yet. He is currently busy with his upcoming project Police Company starring Harshvardhan Rane.

Highlight: Eclatant Films gives rgv 15 days to pay, warning producers, distributors and OTT platforms against striking deals with him without its written NOC.
