Ravi Teja Takes Pay Cut for His Latest Film
Will other Tollywood stars follow his lead?

Ravi Teja is showing the Telugu movie industry a way out of its current slump — he has taken a massive pay cut for his on-release film Bhartha Mahasayulaku Wignyapthi. According to numerous sources, the actor agreed to a remuneration that is only half of his normal fee, to make the project budget-friendly.
More Telugu stars need to follow his lead. A-listers like Prabhas, Mahesh Babu, Chiranjeevi, Jr NTR and Ram Charan charge anything from Rs 30 crore to Rs 100 crore, though none of them other than Mahesh Babu has been among the hits of late.
Noting that “Prabhas and Ram Charan haven’t seen success for a while but continue to charge astronomical fees,” a leading Telugu producer who wishes to go unnamed (“I’ve to work with them”) says firmly, “this must stop.”
