Rampal’s Malayalam Debut With Mohanlal
The film, Operation Ganga, is an upcoming action drama
Directed by Vishnu Mohan, Mohanlal’s film Operation Ganga, is inspired by India’s 2022 evacuation mission to rescue citizens and students stranded in Ukraine and neighbouring countries following the outbreak of the Russia-Ukraine war.
Rampal was drawn to the project by the subject and script following several discussions during pre-production. The film is being shot over an extensive three-month schedule in locations including Georgia and Tbilisi.
Speaking briefly from the sets, Mohanlal said, “I am in Georgia shooting with Arjun Rampal. He is a very fine actor and a really fun co-star.”
The film recreates the high-stakes circumstances surrounding Operation Ganga, the massive evacuation effort launched by the Indian government in 2022 to bring thousands of stranded Indians home.
