Pushing Beyond Limits
Competing at HYROX Bengaluru, six women from Hyderabad delivered a standout performance in one of the world’s most demanding fitness races

It wasn’t just another fitness event weekend in Bengaluru — it was a defining moment for six women from Hyderabad who walked in as competitors and walked out as champions, returning with six winner flags and a result that still feels unreal.
At HYROX Bengaluru, held on April 11 and 12, more than 8,000 athletes showed up to compete. Representing the city with quiet determination and fierce teamwork, Sabina Xavier, Shweta Malpani, Sindura Pudota Alapati, Aishwarya Agarwal, Sangeeta Malpani, and Sayeeda delivered a performance that has now become the talk of the city’s fitness community.
Inside the fitness test:
HYROX, a global sport of fitness racing held across 80+ countries with over 550,000 athletes, combines endurance and functional strength in a gruelling format—participants run 1 km followed by one workout station, repeated eight times.
Alongside over 8 km of running, competitors power through 1,000 metres each of SkiErg and rowing, sled pulls (78 kg) and pushes (102 kg), 80 metres of punishing broad jump burpees, a 200-metre farmers carry with 16 kg in each hand, 100 metres of lunges carrying a 10 kg sandbag, and 100 wall balls. It’s the kind of challenge that demands everything — physically and mentally.
Six women, three teams, one big win
Leading the charge, Sayeeda and Sangeeta secured first place in their 45–49 age category, bringing home Hyderabad’s very first prestigious white flags. Sabina and Shweta clinched second place, earning two black flags. Sindura and Aishwarya also claimed second in the 30–34 category. Interestingly, all six women trained at the same fitness studio in Hyderabad’s Jubilee Hills and competed as three separate teams.
PV Sindhu rocks at HYROX Bengaluru
PV Sindhu swapped her badminton court for an intense fitness challenge at HYROX Bengaluru.
“Badminton has always been my world – but HYROX is completely different. There is no opponent across the net, just you, the clock, and eight stations that test everything at once. I won’t pretend it was easy. But that is exactly what drew me to it,” said Sindhu, in a media statement.
India women’s cricket team captain Harmanpreet Kaur was present at the event and cheered Sindhu on during the challenge. She said the experience offered a new perspective on fitness and competition.
Some journeys aren’t just about reaching a place, but about who you rise beside—and with Sindura, the path to the podium became a story of pure power, lifting and carrying each other’s strength that refuses to be anything less than extraordinary.”
Aishwarya
You can’t fake this. It’s the grind that shapes you—the discipline, the reps, the consistency. The finish line? Just proof of who you became in the process. This journey has humbled me, built a level of mental toughness I didn’t know I had, and the people around me made it all next level.”
Sindura
“Hyrox Bengaluru, it was a weekend full of sweat, grit, cheer, madness, glory, got in there with a crazy strong partner and a buddy with strength and discipline,’practice and belief and came out stronger with more power with super results, a white flag, standing tall on first place with friends who have competed and won with you and cheered for you the loudest and thats what Hyrox has been for us!”
Sangeeta, international marathoner
“Representing our town and taking first place in HYROX Women’s Doubles as a team means so much to us. I want to thank my partner Sangeeta for carrying the load and seeing me through the race, and all of my coaches—you're the best. We lifted, we ran, and we sweated our way to the top. Teamwork won the day!”
Sayeeda, fitness coach and international marathoner.
“I’m still shocked. Shweta and I are your regular women, fitness part of our daily life of being full time mothers with full-time jobs. Yes, we are very fit but honestly HYROX sees another level of athletes from all over the world — coaches, trainers and professional athletes, so I didn’t think we will win. What made it possible was the world class training by our coaches at and lots blessings and good wishes from our friends.”
Sabina
“One of the most rewarding experiences. The hard work put in was immense , the payback even bigger. I am so honored to have done this with Sabina , couldn't have had a more stronger and crazier partner. She pushed me to do my best, but never pressured me.”
Shweta
