Pawan Kalyan is expected to undergo a second shoulder surgery later this year, delaying director Sujeeth’s OG2. The sequel, originally slated to begin filming in September, is now likely to go on floors only in mid-to-late 2027, as the actor needs to be fully fit for its action-heavy schedule. Pawan underwent surgery in July for a chronic rotator cuff injury and an avulsion fracture, while the second procedure was deferred to avoid operating on both shoulders simultaneously.
Doctors have advised a rehabilitation period of six to seven months before he can resume shooting.
Sources say Pawan is also keen for OG2 to surpass the success of the first film and is waiting until the screenplay is locked to his satisfaction.
