Mythri and Ilaiyaraaja Clash
The production house clarifies its stance after Netflix pulled ‘Good Bad Ugly’ amid an ongoing legal tussle over music rights

After Netflix briefly removed Good Bad Ugly from its platform over a copyright dispute involving legendary composer Ilaiyaraaja, production banner Mythri Movie Makers has stepped forward with an official clarification.
“We bought the rights for the songs from Sony Music, paying around Rs 15–20 lakh per song,” the producers said, noting that the issue lies between Ilaiyaraaja and Sony Music. “The songs have been temporarily replaced. The verdict is expected on October 16. We have all the legal documents and followed due procedure, so we cannot comment further while the case is ongoing.”
The Ajith Kumar-starrer, directed by Adhik Ravichandran, marked Mythri’s debut in Tamil cinema and performed moderately well despite its big budget. “It gave us a strong entry into the Tamil market, and we plan to collaborate with Ajith again in the future,” the banner added.
