Rivaba Jadeja has stirred controversy by calling Ravindra Jadeja a model of morality
Rivaba Jadeja, Gujarat’s Education Minister and wife of high-profile cricketer Ravindra Jadeja, has sparked a controversy by making sweeping claims about the character of other cricketers in Team India while praising her husband for his discipline and moral rectitude.
Speaking at an event in Dwaraka, she highlighted the challenges of a career which requires one to be on the move all the time, and said, “My husband, the cricketer Ravindra Jadeja, has to travel to many countries like London, Dubai and Australia to play cricket. Despite this, to this day, he has never touched or engaged in any kind of addiction or vice, because he understands his responsibilities. The rest of the team all indulge in vices, but there is no restriction on them.” Stressing the point, she added, “he can do whatever he wants, but he understands his moral duty — what he needs to do.”
The unfavourable implications of her statement on Jadeja’s teammates has sent ripples across the cricketing fraternity.
