Mammootty vs Dulquer: Box office face-off!
A rare father-son face-off is set to heat up the Indian box office this Nov

The highly anticipated November 20 box-office clash sets up a rare and exciting father-son showdown in Indian cinema, pitting legendary actor Mammootty against his son Dulquer Salmaan.
The clash materialised after the makers of OM - Chapter 1: Udhiram, starring Dhanush and Mammootty, officially shifted its release from October to November 20, 2026. This repositioning avoided a massive confrontation with Rajinikanth-Mohanlal’s Jailer 2, inadvertently triggering a head-to-head battle with Dulquer Salmaan’s upcoming project Aakasamlo Oka Tara.
Both films are targeting wide, multilingual theatrical rollouts, creating a massive scramble for screens across India. While OM holds a natural geographic edge in the Tamil and Malayalam sectors due to its star cast, Aakasamlo Oka Tara enters with a distinct advantage in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh.
Compounding the pressure on theatre availability, both films will have to contend with high-profile Diwali carryovers, as Suriya’s Scene and the magnum opus Ramayana are expected to retain a substantial chunk of screens well into late November.
HIGHLIGHT: Both films are targeting wide, multilingual theatrical rollouts, creating a massive scramble for screens across India.
