‘Maa Inti Bangaram’ Release Deferred
IPL fever and other factors prompt postponement to June 19

It seems to be the season of postponements in Tollywood. After films like Toxic, Peddi and Vishwambhara, actress Samantha Ruth Prabhu’s much-awaited film Maa Inti Bangaram is also reportedly taking the same route.
The film, directed by Nandini Reddy, was initially slated for release on May 15. However, as per industry buzz, the release date has now been pushed, largely due to the ongoing IPL season, as distributors are reportedly unwilling to risk a theatrical release amid cricket fever. IPL matches have impacted theatre footfalls significantly, prompting producers to adopt a cautious release strategy, says a leading distributor.
According to the latest reports, Maa Inti Bangaram is now eyeing a June 19 release, exactly two weeks after Ram Charan’s Peddi. The revised release window is said to have been strategically chosen to ensure better audience attention and stronger theatrical prospects.
Produced by Samantha under the Tralala Moving Pictures banner, the film features an ensemble cast including Gulshan Devaiah, Diganth Manchale, Gautami Tadimalla, Sreemukhi, Anjali and Sathyaraj in pivotal roles. Music is composed by Santhosh Narayanan. “Samantha has reportedly invested over `17 crore in the project and is also in discussions for OTT deals. The theatrical market has not been very encouraging over the last few months, especially for female-led films. She will be looking at recovering around `8 to 9 crore from AP and Telangana distribution rights alone,” the distributor adds.
