Life Hasn’t Been A Bed Of Roses For My Son, Says Suniel Shetty

Ahan Shetty’s role in Border 2 is a matter of special pride for the actor, who himself was a part of the original Border

Suniel Shetty expressed his feeling of pride as a father, as well as his sense of patriotism, at the recent audio launch of Border 2.

The actor, who starred in JP Dutta’s Border, was visibly emotional about sharing the stage with his son Ahan Shetty, who is part of the cast of Niddhi Dutta’s Border 2.

“I will always be indebted as a father that they thought of my son for such a cult film,” he said. “As soon as he got the offer, I told him, ‘it’s not just about the uniform you will be wearing, it’s a responsibility. Whatever you do, do wholeheartedly,” Suniel added.

Detailing the struggles Ahan faced to land roles, Suniel said, “People think it’s easy for a celebrity’s son to get into films. That’s not so. My son didn’t get to walk on a bed of roses.” He expressed the hope that Ahan had lived up to the faith reposed in him, doing justice to the character, and that the film would do well.

Concluding with his own iconic dialogue in Border, the senior actor said, “‘Yeh meri maa ko banjar keh raha hai... kya hum apni maa yadi woh badsurat bhi ho toh usey pyaar nahi karte?’ We need to appreciate the sacrifices our soldiers make for us.”
