Lakshmi Menon Gets Interim Protection From Arrest In Assault Case

Kerala HC to hear further arguments after Onam holidays

The Kerala High Court has granted actress Lakshmi Menon interim protection from arrest in connection with a case involving the alleged abduction and assault of an IT professional in Ernakulam, which reportedly followed a brawl at a pub.

An FIR was registered in the matter, and police have already arrested three other individuals involved in the incident.

In her plea for anticipatory bail, Menon claimed the case was fabricated to damage her reputation. The court granted her protection from arrest until September 17, 2025, and is scheduled to hear further arguments after the Onam holidays.

The complainant had stated that an argument began at the pub between him and Lakshmi’s group and alleged that he and his friend were later followed by a car, verbally abused, forced into the accused’s vehicle, and then assaulted inside it. A video of the alleged incident has since surfaced on social media.

Lakshmi, who is popular in both Tamil and Malayalam cinema, made her debut in the 2011 Malayalam film Raghuvinte Swantham Raziya. Successful Tamil films Sundarapandian and Kumki followed in 2012. Her most recent appearance was in the 2025 Tamil horror-thriller Sabdham, alongside Aadhi Pinisetty.
