The trend of Bollywood actors playing powerful antagonists in Telugu cinema appears to be continuing. After Sanjay Dutt (Double iSmart), Saif Ali Khan (Devara), Bobby Deol (Hari Hara Veera Mallu), Emraan Hashmi (OG) and Nawazuddin Siddiqui (Saindhav), veteran actor Jackie Shroff is reportedly in talks to play the chief antagonist in Ram Pothineni’s ambitious film RAPO23.
According to industry sources, Jackie Shroff is being considered for the pivotal villain's role, with discussions currently underway. If finalised, he will lock horns with Ram Pothineni in what promises to be an intense face-off. However, the makers are yet to make an official announcement.
Produced by Krishna Pothineni under the Rapo Cinematics banner, the film is being mounted on a lavish scale and is touted as one of Ram’s most ambitious projects. It is expected to blend psychological drama with high-octane action in a stylish narrative, moving away from the conventional commercial entertainer format.
The makers are reportedly assembling a strong ensemble cast, and Jackie Shroff’s inclusion is expected to add gravitas.
