Is Saiyaara a Copy of a Korean Classic?
Despite the plagerism row, the film is generating positive buzz

Yash Raj Films’ Saiyaara, starring newcomers Ahaan Pandey and Aneet Padda, has generated unusually strong pre-release buzz, thanks to hysterical hype generated on social media. The romantic drama has surprisingly high advance bookings, particularly for a film starring two new faces.
Over the past few days, positive hype around the film has flooded social media, most of it sounding suspiciously similar in tone. That the producers have run a campaign to create a positive buzz around the film is evident. There’s nothing wrong with that. Nowadays, nothing succeeds like excess.
But why are they hiding the fact that Saiyaara is inspired by a Korean film?
Mohit Suri is no stranger to Korean remakes. His Ek Villain was ripped off from I Saw The Devil. Now it appears his new “intense” love story featuring a new lead pair closely mirrors the plot of A Moment To Remember, directed by John Lee.
Attempts to reach Suri for a comment on the alleged similarities went unanswered.
