Diljit in India for First Time After ‘Sardaarji 3’ Row
The film did not release in India because it starred Hania Aamir from Pakistan
Actor-musician Diljit Dosanjh has been at the center of a storm ever since his new film Sardaarji 3 was announced with a Pakistani actress, Hania Aamir, in the lead. While the film released worldwide, it did not see a theatrical release in India, but has been doing roaring business elsewhere. Diljit, who had remained abroad throughout the controversy, returned to his hometown, Amritsar on July 21, flying in on a private aircraft. News of his arrival spread like wildfire across the city, drawing large crowds of fans to the airport.
However, the star did not engage with either the media or his fans.
Said one of Diljit’s close friends, “No business—just here to meet family and friends. Although Diljit spends a lot of time abroad, he’s a total Punjabi boy.”
