Deva Katta Roped In to Rework Rajamouli-Mahesh Babu Project
The high-budget jungle adventure has faced several challenges— from casting confusion to location setbacks — and is now undergoing major script revisions

Mahesh Babu’s most ambitious film to date, directed by S.S. Rajamouli, is undergoing significant script changes. The yet-untitled jungle action-adventure has faced several challenges since its inception.
To begin with, there was confusion over the casting. When Priyanka Chopra Jonas was brought on board, her role had to be restructured. Then came the issue of locations — several chosen spots had to be dropped due to political unrest. Now, the latest development, as heard from sources close to the project, is that Mahesh Babu and Rajamouli have gone into a script-revision mode. The team has brought in director-writer Deva Katta to rework the script.
“Even as the shooting continues, portions of the script are being rewritten,” a source reveals. “They’ve brought in Deva Katta to do some serious doctoring of the script.”
This project is reportedly Rajamouli’s second-most expensive venture after Baahubali, surpassing even the budget of RRR.
