Deepika Slams Fan for Filming Dua Mid-Flight
The actress has drawn a line on privacy after a fan secretly filmed her 11-month-old daughter, a video that quickly leaked online and set off fresh outrage over celebrity kids being targeted without consent
In the now-viral clip, Dua is seen on Deepika’s lap in an airport buggy when the actor angrily confronts the person recording. The incident has reignited debate on star kids’ privacy, which Deepika and Ranveer Singh had explicitly sought after introducing Dua to the media in September 2024.
While the paparazzi have largely respected the couple’s request, boundary-crossing fans remain a persistent concern. Many netizens condemned the intrusion, calling it a blatant violation of a child’s right to privacy.
The episode echoes similar struggles faced by other celebrity parents — from Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor shielding daughter Raha, to Kareena Kapoor Khan urging restraint after security fears around her sons, Taimur and Jeh.
Industry insiders warn that social media obsession with star kids fuels trolling and even threats. “It’s not just exposure — it creates a dangerous satmosphere,” a PR manager noted. Cricketer Jasprit Bumrah’s wife, Sanjana Ganesan, recently highlighted the same issue after trolls mocked her toddler son.
‘Our kids deserve privacy too’
Actor Saif Ali Khan has spoken candidly about the growing intrusion into his private life, particularly when it comes to his son, Taimur. “We have an understanding with the photographers. They can click him at public places — but not outside his home or school. That’s ridiculous. He’s just a kid.” Saif said, stressing the need for boundaries. “I get that it’s their job. But they can’t stalk our home — even the neighbours don’t like it. Privacy does become a concern at times.” Saif admitted that the family often travels far to find quiet moments together “We do get irked sometimes. But, no complaints. It’s because of what we do that we can afford to create these private spaces. In a way, it all balances out.”
