‘Consistency is Vital’

Dr P. Vamsi Krishna Varma, Senior Spine Surgeon, Yashoda Hospitals, says, “I am committed to my daily routines. Cycling and running are my passion. Find yours, and everything else will follow.”

Dr P. Vamsi Krishna Varma adheres to a balanced and diversified strategy for nutrition. “My regimen incorporates regular physical activity, including cycling and running. Each morning, I commence my day with a minimalist yet nutrient-rich pairing of a banana and black coffee, a combination that provides a natural energy boost. My midday meal is a harmonious blend of protein-packed eggs, salad and roti, ensuring a steady supply of macronutrients. For dinner, I indulge in a satiating ensemble of chicken, vegetables, and a carbohydrate base of rice or roti, rounded off with a modest serving of dessert to satisfy my palate,” he says.

By embracing moderation and eschewing restrictive dietary practices, Dr Vamsi cultivates a sustainable and fulfilling relationship with food while maintaining a comprehensive commitment to physical well-being.

Prioritising both body and mind

“Cycling and running invigorate both my body and mind, serving as indispensable pillars of my fitness routine,” says the spine surgeon. “They improve cardiovascular health, build endurance and strengthen muscles, besides giving me a profound sense of accomplishment and vitality”

Well-structured day

Dr. Varma’s day starts at 5:00 a.m. After a workout, he heads to his favourite coffee shop. “By 8:00 a.m., I transition into work mode, dedicating myself to my professional responsibilities until 5:00 p.m. Evenings are a cherished time of relaxation and connection, as I prioritise spending quality moments with my wife and daughter and ensuring they remain central to my life. By 9:00 p.m., I retreat to bed with a book in hand, a calming end to a well-structured and fulfilling day,” says the doctor.
