Chiranjeevi Puts ‘Kaaka’ On Hold

Uncertainty looms over Sankranti 2027 release

Chiranjeevi has paused production on his highly-anticipated mass action entertainer Kaaka.

According to reports emerging from Film Nagar, work on the project has been halted due to creative concerns. The Megastar recently watched the edited rushes and reportedly felt something was amiss. According to sources, Chiranjeevi felt the narrative closely resembled Superstar Rajinikanth’s classic blockbuster Baasha. To prevent a predictable storyline, he reportedly requested director Bobby Kolli to put the film on hold until the script can be fine-tuned.

Kona Venkat, who is part of the film’s writing team, met with Chiranjeevi to convince him to proceed, but the discussions were unsuccessful.

Kaaka was slated for a massive worldwide Sankranti release on January 13, 2027. If rumours prove true, Chiranjeevi’s other major project, Vishwambhara, is expected to take the Sankranti release slot.

Prior to the sudden roadblock, Kaaka was generating massive buzz, with quotes for theatrical rights for the Telugu states standing at a whopping `70 crore.
