Chiranjeevi Film Sets Legal Precedent To Curb Online Negativity
Court order deactivates ratings and reviews on ticketing portals

In recent times, Indian cinema—particularly Telugu films—has suffered from aggressive pre-release and on-release negativity.
Now, Chiranjeevi and his team have taken an unprecedented step to address the issue at its root. For his upcoming film Mana Shankara Varaprasad Garu, the team has secured a court order to deactivate ratings and reviews on ticketing portals.
This move aims to act as a shield against bot-driven fake ratings and coordinated online attacks. If this revolutionary strategy proves effective, it could offer much-needed relief to Telugu cinema, which is currently facing an unprecedented crisis, by preventing premature online negativity.
Of course, a bad film will fail on its own merits. But with a foolproof preventive check at the ticketing stage, films may at least be spared from being unfairly targeted for early doom.
