Bollywood is becoming more inclusive, and it’s not shying away from depicting specially-abled persons on the big screen.
After Aamir Khan’s Sitaare Zameen Par about a basketball team of neuro-challenged players hit the right buttons, this week we have another release – Aankhon Ki Gustakhiyan – featuring Vikrant Massey as a visually-challenged musician.
Next Friday, July 18, Yash Raj will unleash another movie that features a character that lives with a disability. Though neither producer Aditya Chopra nor director Mohit Suri would confirm it, debutante Aneet Padda is believed to play a songwriter with Alzheimer’s in Saiyaara, inspired by the Korean film A Moment To Remember.
On the same day, Anupam Kher’s ambitious film, Tanvi The Great, about an autistic heroine (played by newcomer Shubhangi) and her inspiring struggle to overcome the prejudices and hurdles, will hit the screens.
