Bids for ‘War 2’ Distribution Rights Set a New High
Star power of Hrithik and Jr NTR fuels mega bids in Telugu States

Although the trailer of Hrithik Roshan-Jr NTR’s War 2 has received mixed reviews, the bids for its distribution rights have touched record levels.
The film has received a Rs 100 crore offer for Telugu distribution rights — the highest for a dubbed film in Telugu.
Several heavyweights in the business are bidding for the film’s distribution rights. According to reliable trade sources, Yash Raj Films has received Non-Refundable Advance (NRA) offers from distributors such as Mythri Movie Makers, Sri Venkateshwara Creations, Sithara Entertainment and Asian Cinema, as well as independent buyers.
“The bids for the film range from Rs 90 crore to Rs 110 crore. Leading the pack is Asian Cinemas, which has made a staggering offer of Rs 100 crore for the Telugu states, for both the Hindi and Telugu dubbed versions. These bids surpass the previous record set by KGF 2, which earned Rs 80 crore in the Telugu states. Given the star power of both Hrithik and Jr NTR there is a tremendous buzz in all markets, particularly in the south,” revealed the sources.
Describing the film as having big-screen spectacle energy, director Ayan Mukherji said, “I am grateful that Aditya Chopra gave me this incredible opportunity to collaborate with the Hrithik Roshan-NTR duo. I cannot wait for our audiences to experience the magical work that these two giants have created in War 2 … Not just with their mega movie-star energy but with the drama and depth.”
