Aviation Firm Sues Nora Fatehi for Rs 3 Crore

Dunes Aviation claims her social media videos triggered safety concerns and led to a 15% to 20% drop in bookings

Dunes Aviation has filed a Rs 3 crore civil defamation suit against Nora Fatehi in a Gandhinagar court, accusing the actor of making “reckless and irresponsible” remarks on social media.

The dispute stems from a Mumbai-to-Jaipur flight she took in December. During the journey, Nora recorded videos inside a Cessna Citation CJ2 business jet, jokingly describing it as a “toy plane,” “miniature” and “Lego airplane.” She later shared the videos on her Instagram.

Dunes Aviation claims the videos raised safety concerns among potential customers, resulting in a 15% to 20% drop in bookings and a surge in cancellations. The firm notes that Nora’s comments were made without factual basis and says the aircraft is fully certified by the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) and operates under a valid Non-Scheduled Operator’s Permit (NSOP).

Apart from Rs 3 crore in damages, the company has sought the immediate removal of the posts and a public clarification from the actor.
