'Alpha’ Drops India-Pak Harmony Narrative
Turns into nationalist spy thriller

Alia Bhatt.
Alia Bhatt’s much-delayed spy thriller Alpha, now slated for release in June, has reportedly undergone a significant narrative shift.
The film is no longer centred on spies from India and Pakistan joining forces to combat terrorism. Instead, it has been reworked into a full-fledged patriotic action drama, with Alia Bhatt’s character taking a strong stand against terrorism emanating from Pakistan. According to the sources, the original Indo-Pak collaboration angle was deemed “non-viable” in the current socio-political climate, with the makers opting for a more assertive, nationalist narrative in tune with prevailing public sentiment.
