Alia’s ‘Alpha’ Under Review

Post Dhurandhar’s phenomenal success, this film is being fine-tuned, ahead of 2026 release

Alia Bhatt recently unveiled early visuals of Alpha in Jeddah, describing the project as a bold risk and a daring new chapter—both in her career and within the YRF spy universe. The actor underlined that the film marks a significant departure, being the franchise’s first female-led spy thriller.

The makers had earlier announced that the film’s release was pushed back to allow additional time for VFX work. Now, even as Alpha is slated for an April 2026 release, well-informed sources indicate that the team is closely monitoring the project, reassessing both its visual effects and narrative structure.

“The landscape is fast evolving. Dhurandhar has opened a new chapter, with its much-anticipated second installment releasing on March 19. Alpha rolls in on April 17, 2026. While the tone of the two films is different, both belong to the spy thriller genre. The makers are therefore tightening the film and, if required, may even reshoot certain sequences,” a source said.
