The fortunes of the present Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister, Chandrababu Naidu, have seen many ups and downs. Earlier lauded as a development superhero, who had changed the face of modern Andhra Pradesh, Chandrababu’s Telugu Desam Party (TDP) got a drubbing in the 2004 assembly elections and he had to stay out of power for 10 long years. However, following the bifurcation of Andhra Pradesh, he bounced back to power in the 2014 assembly elections, becoming the first CM of Andhra Pradesh post bifurcation.
Even as Chandrababu continues to stay a popular figure in Andhra Pradesh politics, all eyes are now set on Chandrababu’s 34-year-old son, Nara Lokesh Naidu. Lokesh Naidu was inducted into TDP in 2013 and currently, he is the Cabinet Minister for Information Technology, Panchayati Raj and Rural Development in the Andhra assembly. While on the whole, Chandrababu has been a huge success in Andhra politics, it remains to be seen whether his son Lokesh Naidu will live up to peoples’ expectations.
Lokesh Naidu Inherited An Illustrious Legacy
By inheritance, Lokesh Naidu is way above an average politician. He is the son of several times CM of Andhra Pradesh, Chandrababu Naidu and the grandson of the illustrious politician, the late N.T. Rama Rao. He also heads TDP’s youth wing. These parameters have increased the expectations from this young leader. Lokesh Naidu has a few significant developments to his credit so far. He helped TDP develop the Cash Transfer Scheme for their manifesto in the 2009 elections. The TDP proposal was criticised by the Congress, but Lokesh Naidu claimed in January 2013 that Rahul Gandhi and Congress’ development of the Direct Benefit Transfer System was derived from the TDP proposal.
The question doing the rounds now is whether he will succeed in politics, and whether he will be able to work with the same charisma as his father or grandfather. Ganesha has found that even though Lokesh Naidu may continue to enjoy recognition in Andhra Pradesh politics, he may not be able to make the mark in the 2019 assembly elections.

In the birth chart of Lokesh Naidu, Saturn and Venus is posited in exchange, which indicates that he is good at assembling a multitude of facts and then formulating them into a ‘great idea’. He is highly intelligent, sharp and always has something extremely interesting to say. Also, Saturn is exalted, which gives good education, success, fame and higher position of ruler. Jupiter is placed in Scorpio in the star of Saturn. So, he has the inclination to change a policy, program or strategy that is out-dated, or no longer beneficial to him or to his party.

The transiting Jupiter will continue to help him after September 2017 as well. However, the transiting Saturn in Sagittarius may cause a few problems. So, his relations with allies will remain strained and the politics within his own party may not allow him to get the success that he desires and deserves.
He will have to tackle the splits and confusion within the party cadre and keeping his supporters intact will be a difficult task for him. Despite his strong background, he will be unable to inspire confidence within its supporters and voters. He has a mountain to climb to establish himself as a candidate for next Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh.
