What prompted your shift from dentistry to dancing and acting?

Though I was driven by the ardent wish to become a doctor, I discovered a profound passion for dance and acting early on. It wasn’t merely a hobby, it led me to spend almost 12 years at the Shiamak Davar dance school. I participated in a serial on Star Plus, Ad films, and various other projects. I consistently balanced academic studies with my fervour for acting and dancing.

How did your passion for dance develop, and what inspired you to pursue it alongside your career in dentistry?

My love for dance deepened during high school, becoming an inseparable part of my identity. Despite establishing myself as a dentist, the yearning for dance persisted. I decided to dance part-time, eventually realising that the joy and passion I felt on stage surpassed my life in dentistry. This realisation led me to choose dance as my primary focus.

What motivated you to explore your singing talent?

Music runs in my family, and my parents are exceptional singers. When an ACL ligament injury sidelined my dancing aspirations, I needed a creative outlet. Turning to singing during this challenging period became a cathartic experience. I sought training, collaborated with Salim Merchant sir’s team, and discovered a new facet of my artistic nature.

Facing a challenging injury can be mentally and physically demanding. How did you cope?

Dealing with the injury was a test of resilience. My mother instilled in me the value of patience, emphasizing that good things take time. This innate patience, coupled with a never-give-up attitude, not only aided my recovery but also contributed to my personal growth as a more resilient and mature individual.

How do you manage to balance dancing, singing and acting?

Having multiple talents is a gift, and I believe in exploring various artistic pursuits that bring joy and acceptance. With focus, determination and a clear vision, I manage to integrate my love for singing whenever there’s free time, creating a harmonious balance among dancing, singing and acting.

As the wife of cricketer Yuzvendra Chahal, how do you manage being a public figure while maintaining a private life?

Balancing being a public figure and maintaining a private life can be challenging, especially in the world of cricket. It involves leading a simple life at home while presenting a different persona for the public eye. Your comeback on Jhalak Dikhla Jaa was impressive. Could you share the emotions and challenges you faced during that period and how you overcame them?
