Zilla Parishad High School from Chandrapalam Wins First Ever Bengal Warriorz Beach Kabaddi League in Vizag
S.V.L.N.Z.P High School (Boys and Girls) from Gopalapatnam were the runners-up in the Bengal Warriorz Beach Kabaddi League Boys’ and Girls’ tournament.
Vizag: Ahead of their opening game in PKL Season 12, the Bengal Warriorz pieced together a very thoughtful and enjoyable initiative for the schools of Vizag as the hosted and organised the first ever Bengal Warriorz Beach Kabaddi League. The competition was held at the iconic RK Beach in Vizag.
After a series of nail-biting matches and thrilling contests on the beach, the Zilla Parishad High School from Chandrapalam, Maduwada won the title in both the Boys’ and Girls’ competition. In both the finals, Zilla Parishad High School from Chandrapalam, Maduwada faced S.V.L.N.Z.P High School (Boys and Girls) from Gopalapatnam. In the Girls’ final ZPH, Chandrapalam, Maduwada won 50-11, and in the Boys’ final they won 37-12.
The competition which witnessed great enthusiasm and skill was held over 10 days with 3,000 students from all over Vizag participating. And today, marked the grand finale of this thrilling competition, here at the RK Beach.
The trophy was handed over to ecstatic and jubilant students by Apurv Gupta, Director – Contact Sports, Capri Sports, Bengal Warriorz captain Devank Dalal and Head Coach Naveen Kumar. Also present was Bengal Warriorz’s Jang Kun Lee and Vishwas S. After the prize distribution ceremony, the champions and the Bengal Warriorz players interacted, with the students being given tips on ways to improve their game in the future.
Zilla Parishad High School from Chandrapalam, Maduwada have also been invited to watch the Bengal Warriorz’s first game in PKL Season 12 on August 31st, when they take on the defending champions Haryana Steelers. The Bengal Warriorz will play three more games in Vizag, with a match against the home team Telugu Titans scheduled for September 7.
The Bengal Warriorz Beach Kabaddi League witnessed a fantastic turnout as the young kabaddi players produced some great contests, and had their friends and family cheering them on. Speaking on the occasion, Apurv Gupta, Director – Contact Sports, Capri Sports, said, “We are delighted to see the enthusiasm and the unwavering support for the Bengal Warriorz Beach Kabaddi League in Vizag, which has felt like our second home over the course of these days. Congratulations to the Zilla Parishad High School (Chandrapalam) for winning the title and we hope to be able to come back every year, with a bigger and better competition for the talented youth of the city of Vizag.”
