In 2021 summer, Team India toured England for five match test series when Virat Kohli, arguably India's greatest Test skipper gave a pep talk that sparked India's historic comeback.
Coming after a draw in the first game, as clouds loomed over Lord’s and critics questioned India’s overseas performance, Virat Kohli delivered what many teammates and fans call as the most inspiring pep talk in Indian Test history. It came on fifth day morning, with the match getting heated up after Day 4 exchange between Bumrah, Kohli and England's Anderson.
With an attitude of a 'lion', Kohli gathered his men in a huddle and reminded them of who they were playing for. “Let them know we’re here to win. If I see anyone laughing, see what happens. Got it? For the 60 overs they should feel hell out there," he roared, igniting a never-give-up attitude into the team.
The impact was instant as Mohammad Siraj and Jasprit Bumrah bowled rockets, while fielders threw themselves around like possessed men.
The result -- England, chasing a modest 272, shuttered to 120 all out. India won by a massive 151 runs marking only their third-ever Test victory at the Lord’s.
