Hyderabad: Hyderabad tennis player Yadlapalli Pranjala made it to the quarterfinals of the ITF women’s singles tournament being played at the Balewadi Sports Complex in Mahalunge, Pune.
In the pre-quarters, Pranjala defeated Shweta Chandra Rana 3-6, 6-1, 6-3. Earlier in the first round, Pranjala had beaten Theiviya Selvarajoo of Malaysia 6-4, 6-4.
However, Pranjala and Nidhi Chilumula lost the doubles quarterfinals to to Riya Bhatia and Shweta Rana 0-6, 4-6. In an earlier round, Pranjala and Nidhi beat Arthi Muniyan and Sahan Shetty 6-3, 6-0.
