The Telangana Under 19 boys and girls teams finished runners-up at the National School Games championships held in New Delhi.

Telangana Under 19 teams returned with two silver medals as they finished second best at the National School Games Table Tennis Championships held in New Delhi.

In the U-19 boys category final, only Hari Krishna could win a singles match, against Jash of Maharashtra but failed to find support from his teammates Saroj Siril and Md Ali, who lost their respective matches as Telangana went down 1-3.

 

The girls also went down to Maharashtra in the final. Telangana girl V. Sasya came back from a game down to score a 9-11, 10-12, 10-12 win over Disha from Maharashtra while G. Praneetha defeated Shruthi 7-11, 11-6, 11-7, 11-8 but those were the only two matches the State girls could win as Maharashtra powered their way to a 3-2 victory with wins from Sausati and Shruti in combination matches to take the trophy.

The teams (Boys): V. S. Harikrishna, Md. Ali, Saroj Siril, Sai Tejesh, Sriram Bhargav; Girls: G. Praneetha, V. Sasya, V. Laasya, B. Raaga Niveditha and Vinoochitra.

Ali (Telangana) 3-2 (7-11, 5-11, 14-12, 11-9, 12-10); Anirudh (Maharashtra) bt Harikrishna (Telangana) 3-1 (9-11, 14-12, 11-7, 12-10).
Boys semifinals: Telangana bt New Delhi 3-0 (Saroj Siril (Telangana) bt Parth Virmani (New Delhi) 2-1 (11-6, 10-12, 11-9); Harikrishna (Telangana) bt Shub Goel (New Delhi) 2-1 (11-7, 5-11, 11-8); Md. Ali (Telangana) bt Ayush Kapoor (New Delhi) 2-1 (9-11, 11-5, 11-6).
