Hyderabad girl Y. Sai Dedeepya and her partner from Haryana, Himani Mor, entered the semifinals in the doubles competition at the AITA Women’s tennis tournament being played in Karnal in Haryana. In the semifinals, Dedeepya and Himani, after some initial trouble, trounced the Haryana-Delhi combination of Riddi Ramesh Sharma and Muskan Gupta 7-5, 6-0.
Their opponents fought well in the first set, taking it down to the wire, but the combined might of Dedeepya and Himani proved too much in the second. In the title clash, Dedeepya-Himani will clash with the top-seeded Haryana-West Bengal combo of Neeru and Yubrani Banerjee.
